Exeter Chiefs were good enough against La Rochelle to secure five points with their 31-12 win in Heineken Champions Cup Pool 2 on Saturday. One notable moment from the match was when Alec Hepburn tackled opposing flanker Wiaan Liebenberg with his face.
As can be expected from such a collision, Hepburn was left with much of his blood gushing on himself and the pitch. Hits like these are definitely not for the faint of heart but he appeared to be okay, thankfully.
He actually made contact with the man supporting the ball carrier when he went in upright.
With a lot of talk about tackle height these days, this is perhaps another example of how things can be a bit safer if players lower their tackle technique.
Of course, these things happen at high speed in such a dynamic sport.
Both Simmonds brothers helped lead the way for Exeter, as they outscored the hosts four tries to two. Joe Simmonds was flawless from the tee and brother Sam secured the bonus-point try.
