Here’s a short clip of two things that happened in the Wales vs Wallabies game at the Millennium Stadium on the weekend. Luckily, they both took place at the same time, making for two great moments that we’re sharing with you today.
The first is of course the big shot that Jamie Roberts put in on Berrick Barnes early in the game. The meeting between the two had been spoken about beforehand and Roberts himself had said that Barnes might be a tricky customer to deal with.
Barnes is under 90kg’s, but fearless to the point of having been knocked out so many times it actually threatened his future in the game. Roberts cited he and James O’Connor as two they’d need to keep their eyes on.
“We have made sure this week in defence we are ready to greet him and Berrick as well. Berrick had a terrific play-off game against us. Hopefully, we can give him a warm reception,” Roberts said.
He did exactly that, welcoming him to Cardiff in just the third minute of the game.
A turnover followed as Gethin Jenkins – their fourth loose forward – dug in to snatch the ball then put in an almighty clearing kick. Great play all round, and a memorable moment from the game.
