It appears that many of Englands finest players are currently making the decision to play in France.
With the wage cap set at a much higher €10m, the allure of a better wage and a better way of life is attracting many of the premierships top talents.
The most recent to be announced is Joe Marchant of Harlequins, with Stade Francais announcing the signing today via Twitter.
On his move, Marchant said: “I am very proud and grateful to have been part of Harlequins for the last 10 years. I’ve made some amazing memories on and off the field and made great friends along the way. This club has been a home to me and will always have a place in my heart.
“The time has come for me to depart the Club and I am excited for my next challenge ahead. I will make the most of every moment for the rest of this season proudly wearing my Quins shirt.
“Thank you for all the support!”
With reports of Eddie Jones sacking flooding through, it’ll be interesting to see whether any other changes will need to be made. Including the debate on Englands top talents that play overseas, if they will now be eligible for selection.
