Ireland continued their crusade towards a Six Nations Grand Slam with a mightily impressive 22 – 7 victory over Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday.
Despite losing five players to injury throughout the contest including both of their Hookers, Ireland looked a class above their hosts.
Having weathered a Scottish storm to go into the break 8 – 7 up, Ireland flexed their muscles in the second half as they utterly dominated their hosts.
As ever leading from the front was captain Jonathan Sexton who is a marvel at 37-years-old.
Once again, the Leinster and Ireland star was at the forefront of everything positive Ireland produced including two touchline conversions that truly sunk the Scots.
One area that Sexton has previously caught the ire of opposition fans has been his interaction with referees.
Yet this is possibly the area of his game that has taken the biggest leap forward in recent seasons. Such is the high regard he is held in, Sexton’s ability to accurately explain to the referee his side’s perspective is a sight to behold.
One such exchange which was lost in the action of Sunday was the below.
