Munster got the better of their fierce rivals Leinster at Thomond Park on Saturday with a 22-5 win in the Magners League. Leinster took a double blow as Jonny Sexton has been suspended for two matches following an incident with Lefeimi Mafi.
Sexton was cited for kicking out at Mafi during the closing stages of the match. Mafi received a cut above his eye and was sin-binned for tangling with Sexton after the incident.
Munster werent planning on taking the incident further, but citing Commissioner Eddie Walsh felt that a disciplinary hearing was necessary.
The suspension means that Sexton is now ruled out of Leinster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final clash with Harlequins on Sunday. The fly-half will also miss the Magners League game against Connacht on 18 April.
Leinster are expected to appeal the suspension.
