La Rochelle took another step closer to defending their Heineken Champions Cup title with a comprehensive 47 – 28 win over the Exeter Chiefs in Bordeaux today.
Outplaying their English rivals at every turn, Ronan O’Gara’s side simply overwhelmed the Chiefs to set up a repeat of last season’s final against Leinster on May 20th.
In a fixture jam packed with world class tries, one moment of magic stands above the rest.
Attacking the Exeter line, La Rochelle showed their full array of skills in what is the ultimate example of a team try.
Going through an unlimited number of offloads, one particular offload from centre Ulupano Junior Seuteni was so jaw droppingly good that it would rival any we have seen since peak Sonny-Bill Williams.
The former junior Wallaby carried hard into contact, riding the tackle with relative ease before going behind the back of the Chiefs defenders.
Waiting on the other end was former All Black scrumhalf Tawera Kerr-Barlow who scampered off for the try.
