Gallagher Premiership side the Leicester Tigers are set to lose club captain Julian Montoya to the Top 14 if reports in the French media are to be believed.
Midi Olympique revealed on Monday that the Argentinean captain was the target of several Top 14 clubs. A recent report in RugbyPass linked him to Section Paloise, which currently sits in 8th position in the French top division.
Should Montoya depart the East Midlands club, he will join former Premiership players Joel Kpoku, Dan Robson and Joe Simmonds at the Stade du Hameau.
The news of the 30-year-old’s potential move comes just days after reports linked double World Cup-winning Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard with a move to the Japanese top league.
World Cup winning Springbok star rumoured to be on the move
To date, Montoya has made 59 appearances for the Tigers, scoring 26 tries in the process and has been the club’s captain since 2023 and was a key member of the team that won the Premiership in 2022.
