Leinster Hooker Dan Sheehan’s elevation from second string for both club and country to truly World Class has been nothing short of meteoric.
A physical freak with a try scoring record that would look more at home with a world class winger, Sheehan has become a key component in the Leinster machine.
In direct competition with his good mate Ronan Kelleher for the Irish and Leinster hooking position, Sheehan came off the bench in his side’s dominant win over Gloucester last night.
It didn’t take long for Sheehan to get involved as he released Jordan Larmour to put Leinster in a 50 – 0 lead with five minutes to play.
The way in which Sheehan offloaded the ball immediately drew comparisons to All Blacks legend Sonny-Bill Williams.
Fending off several Gloucester defenders, Sheehan flicked the ball out to the on running Larmour for a truly exceptional score.
We’re convinced that Dan Sheehan is a back playing in the front row 😆
Great to see Jordan Larmour scoring on his return to @leinsterrugby 🤩#HeinekenChampionsCup pic.twitter.com/jtde33bEC2
