Qualification for Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan continues today as Vancouver plays host to Canada and Uruguay, who are both hunting for a spot at the tournament. The match also doubles as the opening game of the 2018 Americas Rugby Championship.
It is the first of a two-leg series, with the return match taking place in Uruguay’s Montevideo on February 3rd. The winner on aggregate will qualify for RWC 2019 as Americas 2 in Pool D, alongside Australia, Wales, Georgia and Fiji.
