Just under a month ago, we were reporting that Louis Lynagh was moving to Treviso to link up with Benetton Rugby for the upcoming 2024/25 season. He had lofty plans to play international rugby for Italy, the country of his birth – and now it appears that those dreams have been realised.
Set to face Scotland in the penultimate round of the Six Nations, Italy have included Lynagh on the wing for what will be his first ever cap in the light blue of Italy.
Lynagh had been previously called up to the England squad before his recent long term injury but had not found himself in the reckoning since. The decision to play for the improving Italian side could prove a masterstroke in the career of the son of former Wallaby great, Michael Lynagh.
