Bryn Gatland displayed some extraordinary toughness against the Melbourne Rebels as the fly half was on the receiving end of some heavy blows in the Chiefs 36-26 win.
First up was Rebels flanker Michael Wells, who wasn’t sold on Gatland’s dummy. Instead, the big man planted his shoulder square in Gatland’s mid-section, dumping him hard on the turf.

It was a textbook tackle that was both hard and more importantly, legal, showing such things are still possible.
Later in the match, it was Marika Koroibete’s turn to have a go. Gatland followed his own kick downfield, only to find the nightmare scenario of a fully-charging Koroibete with a full head of steam.
However, all credit is due to the fly half for bravely standing his ground and making the tackle.
