The All Blacks vs England test is now just hours away, so for those who have been following our build-up, you may have noticed that we have enlisted former England fullback Mike Brown to provide his expert analysis on the occasion.
Building up to the clash, Mike has provided us with an idea of what young the England winger, Immanuel Feyi-Waboso can do on the field, so what does Mike think about the 21-year-old?
“He’s a really impressive young man, by all accounts off the field, as well as on it. I hadn’t had any exposure playing against him when he was first called into the England squad, so I was a bit like ‘Oh who’s this young lad’, and I was interested to see how he took his opportunity, which he grabbed with both hands.”
“You want to see these athletic specimens just getting the ball in their hands in any position and having a go.”
“It was only until the last game of the season that I saw him up close playing against him, and he’s just like this physical specimen. He actually whacked me once in a tackle and you’re like ‘Oh yeah, fair play he’s got a bit in him’. With the ball in hand, he’s got a brilliant leg drive in contact, beats players for fun, he’s strong, he’s quick, and his skills under the highball look good.
“He’s a bit like what I liked about Jack Nowell, Jack used to get involved all across the pitch, it’s the same with him as well. It’s great when you have someone with that physical presence who’s able to beat players just by getting his hands on the ball, that’s what I liked about the wingers I played with.”
