Anyone who’s played rugby will know the sense of pride one feels after nailing the perfect tackle. Well, that was exactly how Sale Sharks centre, Laura Perrin, would have felt at the weekend after delivering a crunching hit on Bristol Bears player Lucy Burgess.
Covering the backfield, Perrin spotted Burgess gassing her way through the centrefield after a tremendous linebreak. Sadly for the Bristol scrum-half, there were very limited options alongside her for whom to pass to. With this in mind, Perrin lined her up and smashed the oncoming attacker with all the might her shoulder would muster.

The force of the tackle wasn’t enough to muster a response from Sale Sharks, however, as the Manchester-based side fell 48-5 to the west-country side.
‘Them moves like Burgess!’ 💃

This was also a huge occasion for Abbie Ward who returned to competitive rugby for the first time since giving birth 17 weeks ago, getting herself on the scoresheet in the process.
