Saracens returned to Wembley Stadium this past weekend as they hosted Harlequins in the Guinness Premiership at the world famous venue. This short clip was much requested and is of the tackle of the match, from Sarries lock Mouritz Botha.
The day out at Wembley was more than about just the rugby, it was an event as prematch entertainment included a tightrope walker circling the stadium, a performance from West End show War Horse, and Right Said Fred amusing the crowd.
For Saracens, it was the fourth time that theyve used Wembley as a venue, and with a crowd of over 47 000 turning up on the day, theres no doubt that it was once again a success.
Their goal was to finish in the top four and with this being their last home game, it was vital to assert their dominance over Harlequins.
“I’ve got some good memories from our other matches at Wembley,” said lock Botha.
“It’s been a really successful venue for us and I think everyone gets inspired to raise their performance when they play in front of a big crowd in such an iconic venue. You just get a special feeling every time you run out there.”
While it was Schalk Brits and Andy Saull who dazzled the crowd, second rower Botha made the biggest hit of the day as he smashed Quins centre Jordan Turner-Hall later in the match. Turner-Hall took some time to get up, feeling the full affects of what was a superb hit.
Saracens won the match 37-18. Highlights of the match will follow soon, but dont forget you can watch all the Guinness Premiership highlights on the Omnisport player on the sidebar here.
