Munster Rugby have confirmed that Ireland test centurion Conor Murray has re-signed with the province for another season.
Murray joins highly touted Ireland U20 backrow Brian Gleeson and 25-year-old backrow Jack Daly as the three latest re-signings for Graham Rowntree’s side.
Despite being 34-years-old and second choice at Munster, Murray remains second choice for Ireland behind Leinster’s Jamison Gibson-Park.
A three-time British and Irish Lions tourist, Murray was named captain of the Lions squad in 2021 following an injury to Welsh secondrow Alun-Wyn Jones.
Currently sitting on 116 test caps, Murray was arguably the best scrumhalf in the game between 2015-2018 and has played a key role in several famous Irish victories since making his debut in 2011.
The scrumhalf has made 185 Munster appearances and scored 34 tries for the province to date and was named on World Rugby’s Team of the Decade in 2019.
