Her Majesty’s Prison Service took on the Royal Navy in a highly anticipated Rugby League fixture over the weekend.
In a hugely physical fixture, there were plenty of highlights with both sides showcasing some great attacking skills.
Defensively the fixture was as brutal as you’d expect with some serious shots being landed right across the eighty minutes.
One such shot towards the end of the fixture led to an all-in brawl as both sides refused to take a backwards step.
The tackle in question was a very high swinging elbow to the face. Navy were firmly in the ascendancy at this point and once again attacking the HMP defence.
Not taking the shot lying down Navy fired back with a player running in and clearing out the ruck which kicked off the full-on brawl.
In the end the referee got the matter under control and Navy ran out deserved 24 – 8 winners.
