Crusaders winger Sevu Reece gave us one of the highlights of the Super Rugby weekend when he pulled off this stunning try saver against the Highlanders to prevent a certain try.
All Black-capped after a brilliant rookie season in 2019, Reece found that opportunities were harder to come by in 2020, so has put in a big shift in the offseason to give himself the best chance of achieving his ambitions.
“At the end of last year I had to go back into my books and put a really good plan in place of how I want this year to turn out for me and I’m pretty sure I’m clear with what I want to achieve this year,” he said.
OUCH: Sevu Reece makes brutal shot as winger steps directly into the line of fire
So far, his plan has worked as he’s put in some top-quality performances already in Super Rugby Aotearoa with the Crusaders
The 24-year-old flyer showed his commitment to the cause with this incredible piece of defence against the Hurricanes this past weekend.
Starting on the floor after a wayward teammate’s pass went into the hands of the opposition, Reece got up and chased despite Jackson Garden-Bachop having a massive head start.
A perfectly timed leap allowed him to affect the tackle, along with his other winger, and save a certain try. It’s yet another one for the highlight reel from this dynamic young player.
