Richie McCaw, double World Cup winning captain and the most capped player of all time, is the arguably the greatest rugby player of his generation. In just over a month’s time a new documentary will come out that will give us an inside look at what it takes to be a legend.
McCaw’s career stats are astonishing. Of his 148 Test matches (131 wins) with the All Blacks, he led for 110, with a remarkable winning percentage as captain (89%).
While the superlatives are endless, his name certainly means many things to many people.
Transmission Films has released a trailer for what should be their epic telling of McCaw’s story up to this point. It looks like we’ll get to see plenty from his youth and it should also answer some pressing questions about what he plans to do with the rest of his life.
Consistently one of the fittest players, his work ethic went a huge way to him being as successful as he was, and we should see some of that on show in this behind the scenes look at his life.
Richie McCaw – Chasing Great opens in New Zealand on September 1st. Here’s to hoping it does well enough to get a chance for a wider release.
