Could New Zealand’s best inside centre option be plying his trade in the USA?
At 39 years of age All Black great Ma’a Nonu has achieved just about all there is to achieve in the game.
This hasn’t stopped him from taking over the USA’s Major League Rugby as captain of the San Diego Legion.
Highlights such as this piece of magic from his side’s recent narrow loss to Seattle show just how much respect Nonu commands from opposition defences. Seattle were clearly aware of Nonu’s power as they committed three defenders to stop his rampage. What they failed to account for was his ability to slip a beautiful offload to set-up the try.
Reminder: Ma’a Nonu is 39-years-old 😳

Playing in a league that is fast developing in both quality of play and following, Nonu has been an instant hit with old school and new American rugby fans alike.
Currently sitting in third position in the western conference standings, San Diego has been up and down thus far this season. Despite the inconsistency the Legion have been exciting to watch with an average score of 28 – 27 across their fixtures.
