Premiership side Northampton Saints are gearing up for what looks set to be another jam packed season in 2024.
Whilst several of the players are either away with international camp or getting themselves physically and mentally prepared for the season, coaches at the clubs have been doing the same.
At Saints HQ, head coach Sam Vesty has been a revelation since initially coming onboard as an attack coach under Chris Boyd in 2018.
Implementing a scintillating and effective attacking game, the Saints made the Premiership semi-finals during his first season as head coach in 2022/23.
Now gearing up for his second year in charge, the 41-year-old former Leicester Tigers utility back will hoping his side’s fortunes will be better than his virtual reality career.
As Ashes fever tightens its grip over the English public, Vesty looked to show off his skills to the other Saints coaches with some smooth batting.
In what can only be described as a nod to how realistic the headset is, Vesty looked to be playing a blinder with the bat.
Sweeping the virtual ball aside, he set off for a run only to forget he was mere meters away from a rather solid looking desk!
As he showed lightening quick speed off the mark that would leave you to believe he could still play, Vesty hit the desk with some force much to the enjoyment of his colleagues!
