Irish Olympic Rugby 7s star Zac Ward has linked up with Ulster Rugby ahead of the 2024/25 BKT United Rugby Championship season.
Ballynahinch native Ward is one of three exciting offseason signings for new head coach Richie Muprhy’s new look squad alongside South African winger Werner Kok and former New Zealand U20 flyhalf Aidan Morgan.
Speaking about the signing, Ulster’s head of rugby operations and recruitment, Bryn Cunningham.
, Ulster “It’s great to be welcoming Zac into the squad, as we ramp up preparations for the new season.
“Zac is coming off the back of a successful period playing with the national Sevens set-up, and we feel this is a good opportunity for him to bring his skills and qualities into the group in the weeks ahead.”
Coming off an exceptional season in which he was named the men’s sevens players’ player of the year award at the Rugby Players Ireland awards, the 25-year-old will look to follow in his Olympics teammate Hugo Keenan’s footsteps in making a big impact in the XV-a-side code.
