Los Pumas have always been a passionate side, and this was show once again by Matera and an altercation with Dan Coles.
During the 80 minutes, Argentina were completely dominated and humbled by New Zealand who beat them 53-3, and as the scoreline suggests there can be no debate over who was the better side.
Despite this however, the often fiery Matera took his frustration out directly on one player – Dan Coles.
Coles was sin binned mid way through the second half during a period of sustained Argentine pressure, where the All Blacks gave away a number of clinical penalties… but did stop Argentina scoring.
Perhaps this is where Matera’s anger came from but if one thing was clear it was that he was directly annoyed at Coles.
