Pro D2 side Béziers scored a bizarre try against Rouen Normandie on Saturday which left the opposition scratching their heads under the posts.
After relentless pressure from the hosts, Rouen Normandie found themselves pinned five metres from their own line when scrum half Erwan Nicolas began rolling the ball towards the back the ruck with his hand preparing to clear.
However after asking referee Maxime Chalon whether the ball was still in the ruck, Béziers flanker Jean-Baptiste Barrère then appeared suddenly at the back of the Rouen ruck to steal possession and score a simple try.
The visitors looked in shock at the incident but the Béziers flanker and the man in the middle were on the same wave length and the try helped the hosts to a 34-29 win at Stade Raoul-Barrière.
