France defeated the All Blacks in a terrific game at the Stade de France on Saturday, as two of the world’s greatest sides clashed in an almighty test match. There were plenty of clashes throughout the evening, but one such tasty affair caught the eye of our eagle-eyed reporter.
The footage, shared on X, appears to show Tyrel Lomax open-handedly striking his French counterpart on the floor, before knocking him back over as he attempted to retaliate.

While rugby is known for its power and aggression, players need to be careful not to tread the line too widely in this day and age, otherwise they could easily face repercussions from the officials.
This is not the first time Lomax has had his temperament questioned, in fact, according to Stuff.co.nz, Lomax found himself in trouble with the law when he was just 21 years old, having used his fists to settle a disagreement while out on the town. Lomax was discharged from the accusation by the judge but was ordered to pay the victim $1000 for emotional harm reparations.
The incident happened after Lomax and his friend bumped into the victim at a bar in Wellington. The two then approached the man outside, punching him in the head, knocking him to the ground and punching him while on the ground. The victim had two black eyes, bleeding and bruising. The swelling meant he could not see out of one eye for several days, and even 10 months later he felt uncomfortable, particularly in crowded places like bars and nightclubs.
