Prop Taniela Tupou is still just 20 years old, but his rise to fame has been so fast that he is practically a household name already. Well, ‘Tongan Thor’ is anyway. Here is another look at this rising talent in action, with a rundown of his best bits since he first came to prominence.
As you can see, the young man exerts serious power and can get around the park like a loose forward, some might even say like a back. He handles the ball well too but it’s his fend and big charges that seem to be most lethal.
He’s had a season with the Queensland Reds and while he didn’t set the tournament alight, he is still a very young man and in his position, he is sure to become a better rugby player over time.
