Harlequins’ South African import Andre Esterhuizen packs quite a punch and his tackling prowess was on full show as his side brushed aside Gloucester 59-24 last weekend.
The 26-year-old centre, who can also play at full back, was in fine form during a commanding home performance that featured a bone-crushing tackle on Gloucester’s George Barton.
It would have pleased a packed Twickenham Stoop had spectators been allowed to attend, but in the absence of the Quins faithful, the home side’s own commentary set-up of Jack Kenningham & Tex Cavubati proved just as passionate and excited.

Esterhuizen’s hit was thumping and, more importantly, text book. The South African got his head in the right position and his shoulder at the right height to floor Barton, who impressively still managed to get his kick ahead in despite the excellent tackle.
The reaction from his team-mates however was hilarious and proof that, even though no points came from it, taking pleasure at a big hit still very much remains at the heart of the game!
