Fans have been speculating about Louis Rees Zammit’s 100m time ever since the young speedster burst onto the scene for Gloucester.
His rapid feet have gained him a huge following and a bunch full of tries in the red of both Gloucester and Wales and even paved the way for Zammit to become the youngest tourist on the 2021 British and Irish Lions tour.
Well, now the 22-year-old has released his time for the whole world to see, a prospect that no opposition winger will be pleased about. In controlled conditions, the Welshman was tracked by teammate Johnny Williams as he prepared to compare his speed to the best of the best.
The electric back three player looked as if he was barely breaking a sweat as he notched up a time of just 10.44 seconds over the 100 metre distance.
There have been plenty of occasions on the pitch when Zammit’s speed made all the difference. Back in 2021, Wales were holding a narrow one-point lead with less than 10 minutes to go when Rees-Zammit exploded down the left side after kicking ahead.
Amazingly, he was able to make up the massive amount of space, beating two Fijian defenders to ground the ball with a few feet to spare.
LOUIS REES-ZAMMIT IS TOO QUICK ⚡
Outrageous pace from the @WelshRugbyUnion winger to dot down from his own kick.
