Wales assistant coach Neil Jenkins has been picked up on referee Mathieu Raynal’s mic calling for the French ref to penalise Italian scrumhalf Stephen Varney.
During a break in play, the exchange can be clearly heard as the kicking coach approaches Reynal.
Opening with, “High tackle blue nine?” clearly irked by the interaction, Rayanl replied, “Your job is to bring the water on,” to which Jenkins replied, “Your job is to ref the game.”
From here, the audio on Jenkins is mumbled, but he appears to be saying, “Ref both sides” or something to that effect.
Responding, Raynal says, “That’s the second time you have talked to me,” before Jenkins reiterates, “Blue nine high tackle, our staff are saying it, blue nine high tackle.”
Now clearly fed up with the situation, Raynal says, “Come here, that is the last time, next time you cannot enter the field. You understand?” To which Jenkins replied, “Yeah, yeah.”
