While the Champions Cup and upcoming Six Nations has commanded a lot of focus lately, round 15 of Top 14 action took place over the weekend and as always, there was plenty of skill and pace on display to produce some brilliant tries. Here’s a look at the five best scores.
Add yet another jaw-dropping, monster Fijian winger to the list. This time it was Pau’s Watisoni Votu who jogged in relatively unopposed en route to a 30-24 victory for Pau over Perpignan. The score was set up off of a sharp Pau line-out and a nice run by centre Jale Vatubua.
Earlier in the match, it was Pau’s Thibaut Daubagna that got the try-scoring started after a filthy no-look pass from hooker Quentin Lespiaucq.
Lyon got the 32-11 win over Racing 92, but not before Lyon gift-wrapped a try from a careless turnover. A moment later, a little give and go between Joe Rokocoko and Leone Nakarawa sucked in numerous defenders before a defender-draped Nakarawa offloaded to Antonie Claassen for his try.
Third-place Rochelle notched the 27-25 victory over Montpellier with the help of fullback Vincent Rattez’s try in the corner. And of course, as we’ve already seen, no list from the weekend would be complete without Filipo Nakosi’s match-winner against Stade Francais.
