Six Nations and Irish Rugby legend Ronan O’Gara is perhaps one of the most recognisable faces in the Championship’s history.
Formerly the top points scorer until his successor in the Irish jersey, Johnny Sexton overtook him last season, O’Gara or ROG as he is affectionately known has gone from the playing realm to the coaching world seamlessly over the past decade.
Beginning his coaching journey alongside Sexton at Racing 92 before moving to New Zealand to work alongside current All Blacks head coach Scott ‘Razor’ Robertson at the Crusaders, ROG has had quite the coaching journey.
Now in charge of Top 14 powerhouse La Rochelle, the former Munster star has guided the French club to back-to-back Champions Cup titles over the past two seasons.

Building quite the reputation as a man motivator and tactically astute coach, ROG looks destined to be a coach in the Six Nations at some point during his career.
However, for the time being, he appears content on the French coast coaching a squad jam-packed with global stars.
In fact, it is this role with La Rochelle that has proven to be the basis for his latest advert with Guinness, which is quite simply fantastic.
Clearly playing on his now-viral speech to the La Rochelle players last season, ROG is seen giving a rousing speech to a handful of pubgoers.
Produced for drinkaware.co.uk, the advert promotes Guinness’s alcohol-free option in a clear nod to getting people to think twice before drink driving.
The ad itself is hilarious and really feels like a carbon copy of the coach’s original and real speech.
ROG, ya had me at ‘l’opportunité’ 😅
“We can laugh at ourselves, you know,” he told me, yesterday. “That’s the most important thing.
“It was obviously very serious time [at La Rochelle], but a lot of good came from that fantastic season.” 🇫🇷 pic.twitter.com/svus2U7d6O
