We recently shared episode one of the highly amusing Rugby Explorer, a new show featuring former Scotland and Saracens second row, Jim Hamilton. The first episode took place in Singapore, now Jim’s off to Hong Kong for episode two.
In the second episode of RugbyPass’s Rugby Explorer, Jim visits the land of his forefathers.
After a quick tour of the city, Jim meets up with his old friend Jed Thian, of Alternative Rugby Commentary fame, who gives him the lay of the land and explains the history of rugby in the city.
Jim’s fascinating journey includes a visit to a fortune teller, competing with the women’s dragon boat team, drinking some nasty snake stuff and lighting up Hong Kong with his karaoke skills. There’s also a bit of rugby involved, as he takes part in a Hong Kong rugby training session.
His trip coincides with the Sunwolves – usually based in Tokyo – hosting the Stormers, who are in town for a Super Rugby game, so he goes along to soak up the atmosphere and heat.
