It’s not an easy job being a sports presenter with the eyes of the rugby world upon you. For pros of the job, like Ugo Monye, he often makes the job look utterly seamless. Sadly for Ugo, his production team haven’t quite been on the same wavelength this afternoon.
Leading up to the Harlequins vs Bristol match, Monye was shown on screen walking around the pitch, blissfully unaware that he was being shown on television.
Giving those at home an incredible insight into his job, fans were treated to a short personal conversation between the presenter and Bristol prop Ellis Genge, alongside a running commentary as Monye decided who would be taking part in his pre-match interviews.
The golden moment, however, happened as the former Harlequins winger decided to stick boot to ball, letting out an unfortunate curse word as he did so.

Now with the match fully underway, there shouldn’t be any more live issues…touch wood.

Ahead of the final match of their season, both sides have had their say.
Quins star Danny Care said this week: “I think this club should be playing in the top four of the Premiership, so we’ve got to have a look at that and where we potentially went wrong and dropped points this year,”
Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam said this week. “We’re in the mix which is a testament to the good work the boys have done all season,”
