Round one of the 2023 Bledisloe Cup is in full swing at a packed-out Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With a reported 80,000 in attendance, this year’s clash is the biggest in recent memory, and the action on the pitch has not disappointed.
Having just hit half-time, the clash was very much in the balance, with the All Blacks leading 12 – 7.
Yet, as he has done on many occasions, Will Jordan has snuck over for the All Blacks, with Richie Mo’unga converting to put the Kiwis in front 19 – 7.
Starting the clash about as well as they could have asked for, the All Blacks went over courtesy of Scott Barrett and Shannon Frizell.
Putting pressure on a Wallabies line-out on their own line, Scott Barrett hit Wallabies scrumhalf Tate McDermott with a sweetly timed tackle.
Such was the force that the giant secondrow put through the diminutive McDermott that the ball squirted free for Frizell to pounce on.
