The Vodacom Bulls have already locked up a bonus point in Galway as they currently lead Connacht 28 – 0 in the BKT United Rugby Championship.
Shown a red card in the 21st minute, Connacht number eight Sean Jensen put his side on the back foot against the ultra-physical South African side.
Making full use of their numerical advantage, the Bulls scored some superb tries, firstly through Sebastian de Klerk and Embrose Papier in the first half. Coming out hot in the second half, Jake White’s side locked in the bonus point through David Kriel and Canan Moodie.
Conceding their numbers advantage, the Bulls would go on to pick up a red card of their own and ironically it would be number eight Mpilo Gumede who would be the offender.
Taking exception to his leg being lifted, the powerhouse backrow attempted to push away the Connacht player only to make contact with his eyes.
After a long period of reflection, referee Mike Adamson was left with no choice but to send the Bulls man from the field of play.
