A South African schoolboy has completed what many are considering the perfect tackle.
A few months ago, during an under-19s match between schools Goudveld High and Welkom Gimnasium, a Goudveld halfback was on the receiving end of a majestic hit by a Welkom tackler, as he was picked up and carried back 20 metres.
Clearly in shock by the thundering hit, the tackled player appeared to forget his surroundings, as he offloaded the ball in whatever direction his teammates were to him. Sadly for the Goudveld player, that direction was forward.

Now, unless you’ve been playing the ageless Rugby 08 video game, this dream will often remain just, that. For one player, however, the perfect diving tackle has become a viral reality.
In a clip shared on the Instagram page Champagne Rugby, a player channelled his inner Superman to propel himself into his opponent’s midriff, almost chopping him in half.

Fans have commented on the hit’s quality and noted his ability to make sure it was a legal tackle.
