Bok celebrations rage on in hilarious fashion nearly a week post victory

BY Philip Bendon  ·  Thursday Nov 2, 2023

The 2023 Rugby World Cup-winning Springbok Rugby team has found a quirky way to commemorate their historic victory, and it involves a dash of humour, tattoos, and perhaps a little too much celebration! Not only did they proudly get inked to immortalise their triumph, but they also managed to keep the party spirit alive, with one player going the extra mile in choosing the perfect canvas for his tattoo.

The Springbok players, reviling in the afterglow of their World Cup victory, decided to get tattoos as a permanent reminder of their monumental achievement. However, they didn’t let the celebrations stop at just the ink on their skin. These players, known for their camaraderie and love for a good time, continued to raise their glasses in celebration five days after the final whistle.

In a rather humorous twist, it was Damian Willemse who took the eccentricity up a notch. Instead of opting for a conventional location for his tattoo, the Springbok’s fly-half decided to go for the more unconventional spot of his bum! Which to be fair when you win more than World Cup seems like a sensible spot!

The decision to get tattoos was a unique and touching way for the Springbok Rugby team to celebrate their World Cup victory. Each player chose a design or symbol that held personal significance, and the ink served as a constant reminder of the extraordinary journey they had embarked upon.

While the celebrations and tattoos brought laughter and a sense of unity among the players, it also underlined the close-knit bond that exists within the team. The Springboks are not just about exceptional rugby skills; they are a team that knows how to celebrate life and success to the fullest.

For fans of the Springbok Rugby team, this funny yet heartwarming story showcases the team’s unique personality and spirit. It highlights that, even in the midst of immense success, they can find joy in the small, humorous moments that make them not only world-class athletes but also incredibly relatable and beloved figures in the world of rugby.
