One of rugby’s most loved characters, Steve Diamond is set to return to coaching after the unfortunate end to his time at Worcester Warriors.
Diamond has joined Edinburgh as head coach until at least the end of the season – with his first game on 25th March against Connacht.
He was initially part of a three man shortlist which included Lee Blackett and Blues manager Leon MacDonald.
Edinburgh have been on a terrible run of form – losing 8 of their last 9 and they will hope that Steve Diamond is the perfect man to lead them out of the hole they find themselves in.
The former Worcester boss has been very vocal about bring his old club back from the disastrous situation it finds itself in, and it is unknown if he will return to this venture or continue to coach Edinburgh beyond the end of the season.
It is also being reported that Diamond is keen to bring Nick Easter to his backroom staff after previously working together at Worcester.
I think some people continue to hope that Steve Diamond will be involved at @WorcsWarriors in some way shape or form but this would end all of that.
Would be a brilliant move for @EdinburghRugby in any case. #COYW https://t.co/bEIHqe6h8q
