Ardie Savea started and finished off a stunning counter attack try for the Hurricanes in a thrilling encounter against the Chiefs in round 11 of Super Rugby.
Savea turned over the ball inside the Canes’ own 22-metre-line and presented the ball to scrum half TJ Perenara, who made a break down the left had touchline.
The All Black then made a blind shoulder pass to fellow international Jordie Barrett who showed impressive gas to beat two players and offload to Savea 20 metres from the Chiefs’ try line.
Savea demonstrated some tidy footwork to step inside two defenders and power over the line to complete a fantastic 80-metre score.
The Hurricanes won the game 47-19 at the Westpac Stadium, which had nine tries in total. This win leaves the Canes second behind the Crusaders in the New Zealand conference while the Chiefs are trailing at the bottom.
