Japanese League One Rugby is fast becoming one of the most enticing leagues for the game’s biggest names.
Leading the charge in driving the league forward has been powerhouse side Panasonic Wild Knights.
Dominating the competition over the past five seasons, the side which is coached by former Crusaders and Wallabies head coach Robbie Deans ran up an incredible 47 games unbeaten record.
Seemingly unstoppable, Panasonic with their squad of international stars looked set to roll through the season undefeated once again.
That was of course until they came face-to-face with the Shizuoka Blue Revs also known as Yamaha Jubilo.
Currently sitting in fourth position in conference A, the Blue Revs sprung an almighty surprise on the champions.
Running away with a well-deserved 44 – 25 win, the side which contains players such as Springbok Kwagga Smith and Samoan international Alapait Leiua celebrated like they had won the World Cup final. Rightly so!
