The third and final part of our exclusive series featuring the man that all the guys want to be like, and all the girls want to be with, Jamie Roberts. He’s a great player, an honest bloke, and a nice guy, and Tim Warwood has had enough.
In the last edition of this short three part series, Tim has a final go at bringing down the Welshman as he visits his place of study in an attempt to catch him out once and for all. As you can imagine, that doesn’t happen. It does however give us a night insight into the life of a professional rugby player who is attempting to mix that with being an achieving medical student.
“I’ve got my finals to qualify from Cardiff Medical School in January 2013,” said Roberts.
“As soon as I get home I’ll be on the wards and knuckling down for 14 or 15 months’ part-time study while I’m playing for the Cardiff Blues. It has gone on the back burner for this tournament and I’ve missed it, but if we get to the quarter-finals and hopefully further, I’m happy to wait a bit longer,” he added.
Wales meet Fiji this weekend in the Rugby World Cup, and Roberts has also been named in a strong Barbarians side who will face Australia at Twickenham on November 26th. Sonny Bill Williams is reportedly also going to be involved, as are South Africans Victor Matfield and Bakkies Botha.
