Sale Sharks and England back row player Tom Curry has been ruled out of the next three matches of the World Cup following his red card against Argentina on Saturday.
Curry received his marching orders within the first ten minutes of the weekend’s game, with his initial yellow card being upgraded to a red following the new ‘bunker’ system.
This will be a huge loss for Steve Borthwick’s side, with the talented flanker set to miss the entirety of the group stages. The 25-year-old will however be available for selection again for the Samoa game, if he chooses to complete the tackle school offered by the disciplinary committee.
England face Japan in their next match, which could see the likes of either Jack Willis or Lewis Ludlum stepping into the starting birth on Sunday.
