It’s very easy to be envious of Tommy Bowe. The man seems to have it all. He was good at a variety of sports in his youth, he received an honorary degree from the University of Ulster, played rugby multiple times for his country, he’s tall, handsome and he’s a cracking TV presenter. Where was my point? Oh yes. It’s this…

Jumping the gun on his fellow presenters story, Bowe reacted in evident humour as Clare McKenna said: “Author Seamus O’Reilly was just five years old when he and his 10 siblings…”
Not able to hold back his surprise, Bowe exclaimed “Ten siblings?!” in disbelief. The atmosphere quickly changed and Bowe found himself quickly humbled in one of the the most awkward exchanges seen on television, as McKenna finished her sentence eventually with “…Sadly lost their mum.”
Following this exchange, Ugo Monye asked Bowe what his thinking was behind this blunder, to which the Irish legend said he’d just not read the part of the auto-cue as it hadn’t been his line.
He’ll be careful next time!
