Sale Sharks continued their march towards a semi-final spot in the 2022/23 Premiership season.
Now sitting 9 points behind Saracens and 12 ahead of Harlequins, Alex Sanderson’s side look relatively locked into second position as the season hits the midway point.
Having now seen off Quins 24 – 16 in their crunch clash at the Stoop over the past weekend, Sale have continued to build the buffer between them and their closest rivals.
Whilst the Sharks performance was mightily impressive, there was one incident that left fans scratching their heads.
In what was deemed a rugby collision by referee Wayne Barnes, Sharks and England centre Manu Tuilagi had an ugly head collision with Italian international Tommaso Allan.
Allan would leave the contest on a stretcher in a rather concerning scene.
Thoughts are with Allan who will hopefully be ok and make a speedy return.
On the flipside should Tuilagi have been shown a red? Let us know in the comments.
Have to hope Tommy Allan is ok. Rugby collision rules Wayne Barnes but doesn’t look great from Tuilagi pic.twitter.com/umpjA3kfih
