La Rochelle and France prop Uini Antonio has become one of the most recognizable figures in professional rugby in recent years.
The 6’5” and 150kg New Zealand-born prop has played a key role in the success of both his club and adopted country since moving to France in 2011.
Winning back-to-back Heineken Champions Cups with La Rochelle, Antonio looked to add a Top 14 title to his impressive resume as his side faced Toulouse.
With mere seconds remaining on the clock, it appeared as though La Rochelle were about to win a first-ever domestic title, only for Toulouse star Romain Ntamack to break their hearts.
Yet, whilst Antonio left the clash empty-handed in terms of a winners medal, he may well have secured a valuable item before the action even got underway.
Shaking hands with French President Emmanuel Macron, Antonio produced one of the best one-liners we have heard in years.
Clearly still in the process of getting his French passport, Antonio went right to the very top of the French government as he asked Macron to speed up the process.
