Ulster Rugby are in the midst of ripping the Ospreys to shreds in Belfast in what so far is the most impressive showing of the Richie Murphy era.
Playing like Tom Petty riffing on a harmonica, the Ulstermen are playing at a breakneck pace that has secured them three tries so far.
Opening their account with a superb maul score for hooker James McCormick before winger Jacob Stockdale scorched the Welsh side’s fringe defence.
Adding their third through brute force with backrow Marcus Rea battering his way over the line, Murphy’s side has shown they are a well-rounded operation.
Yet for all of their brilliance with their three tries, none came even remotely close to what would’ve been the try of the season as Stockdale finished off an incredibly long-range attack.
Shifting from a rather demoralised looking Ospreys coach Toby Booth to the kick-off from Stockdale’s try, the camera crew were back on the action just in time,
Receiving the ball deep in their own territory, Ulster set up a first phase platform which ordinarily teams would kick from.
Instead, scrumhalf John Cooney spotted a cap on the left flank, which the Ulstermen flooded through quicker than the Belfast loch tide.
Going through hands firstly to winger Jacob Stockdale, who found fullback Michael Lowry, who popped the ball to loosehead Eric O’Sullivan, who in turn slung a beautiful one-handed pass to Aidan Morgan.
Pirouetting through contact whilst releasing the ball, Morgan found Lowry who then found Stockdale who did the rest with a lovely step and finish.
