Saturday’s historic Test between the All Blacks and the USA will be live streamed around the globe. The match is sold out, with 61 500 fans expected in Chicago. The World Champions have announced their team, with a mix of youth and experience.
Match sponsor AIG have contributed to a massive marketing effort that has not only set up the live stream, but resulted in a record attendance for a rugby match in the USA.
It is the first match between the two sides on American soil for 34 years, and only the third official Test between the two nations.
“The USA match is a wonderful opportunity to grow our global fan base and with live streaming, we hope many more fans will now join Team All Blacks and support all our men and women in black,” said New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive Steve Tew.
Sonny Bill Williams is back starting after a break playing rugby league in the NRL, and the rest of the side is a mix of youngsters, which more experienced players like Kevin Mealamu and Dan Carter on the bench.
All Blacks Head Coach Steve Hansen said: “This is going to be an exciting occasion for the team, playing the USA in front of a record crowd here in Chicago, and it’s great to be here representing the All Blacks and New Zealand.
“While we are giving a number of players another opportunity this weekend, our expectation is that they will play to the highest level and we get a quality performance.”
