South African United Rugby Championship side the Vodacom Bulls have confirmed their place in the 2023/24 Investec Champions Cup as they lead Top 14 side Lyon 54 – 19.
Stacked with Springbok talent, Jake White’s squad are a formidable outfit, especially when playing at their home ground of Loftus Versfeld.
Scoring some absolute pearls of tries today, the Bulls stars were in flying form, with the likes of Canan Moodie, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Willie Le Roux giving their visitors all sorts of troubles throughout.
In a match that was jam-packed with highlights, a Bulls try in the 53rd minute stands out above the rest.
Starting on their own try line, the Bulls recovered a deep Lyon territorial kick.
Playing a key role, Arendse made a break down the left-hand touchline before offloading to hooker Akker van der Merwe, who went on a powerful run.
From here, the ball went through several hands before scrumhalf Embrose Papier lept over the line to put down what will be a try-of-the-season contender.
