Wales put on a much improved all round display as they beat Argentina 33-16 at the Millennium Stadium earlier today.
Star winger Shane Williams found form again as he scored two tries while flyhalf Stephen Jones looked commanding from early on, scoring a try and kicking everything asked of him.
Wales had the majority of possession but went into the break at only 13-3 ahead. Argentina’s Martin Rodrigeuz could have made the gap even narrower, but he hit the post with a penalty.
Wales scored their second try 30 seconds after the restart when Williams scored between the posts following a Luke Charteris charge down. Jones did the rest with the conversion.
Rodriguez kicked two well taken penalties to keep the visitors in contention at 20-9, but Leigh Halfpenny’s booming halfway line penalty took the lead further ahead once again.
Jonathan Davies was charged down by Rodriguez who gathered to score, and then convert, the try. A few minutes later Williams pounced on a loose ball and went over for his second.
Halfpenny kicked another penalty late in the game, stretching the final score to 33-16.
