Brumbies and 12-times capped Wallaby Noah Lolesio was a shock omission from Eddie Jones’s first Wallaby camp that assembled in April.
The 23-year-old playmaker has shown great promise over the past few seasons and such his demotion for Melbourne Rebels flyhalf Carter Gordon raised a few eyebrows.
Gordon who is 22-years-old has been one of the Australian standouts this year and many felt both players would be included.
Thus, as Lolesio sprinted over for a well taken Brumbies try, he poured his emotion out for the camera to see.
Shouting “Carter Gordon?” clearly alluding to the fact that he felt he should not have been leapfrogged.
Speaking at halftime, Gordon had a direct response for his rival saying: “It’s a bit personal this game but I will keep it on the field.”
With years of evidence to suggest that Jones likes a bit of niggle from his players, this development will certainly please the wily coach.
“Carter Gordon?!”
This is brilliant. Brumbies out-half Noah Lolesio scores and calls out rival’s name.
ADVERTISEMENTLolesio missed out on Eddie Jones’ first Wallabies squad as Gordon was included.
