Australian Rugby’s rebirth under Joe Schmidt hit its first speed bump on the weekend as Rassie Erasmus’s Springboks ended their hoodoo in Brisbane with a 33 – 7 win.
On the face of it, the match was somewhat of a no contest as the Boks overpowered the Wallabies from start to finish.
Taking the full five points from the match, the Boks now sit atop The Rugby Championship table just one point ahead of Argentina who took down the All Blacks in Wellington.
Whilst the All Blacks failed to live up to what many felt would be a routine win against Los Pumas, the match highlighted that Argentina are a very real threat to win the title in 2024.
Reverting back to the Wallabies who are clearly in desperate need of inspiration as they get set to face the Boks in Perth, Schmidt who is renowned for his innovation is reportedly set to unleash an all new war dance for the rest of the Championship.
Whilst certainly not on the level of the Haka, the new look Aussie dance will certainly be worth the entrance alone…
